My daughter is like most 10-year-olds. She lives and breathes video games. It gotten to be so bad, that we had to limit the amount of screen time: 1 hr per weekend day. And that seems to be working out okay. Fortunately, when the iPad goes down, she doesn’t have a phone screen to texting secret acronyms and emojis to her friends. She has books. A lot of books. Books to make her laugh, books to educate her about distant lands. She has a whole library. And she reads books over and over again.
We're proud of our little girl. If you’re ever walking downtown, you can spot her in a second. In her book. But if you call her name, there’s no way she’s looking up. God forbid she misses her spot.
